Veins (Spider)

Overview

Spider veins are small, weblike networks of damaged blood vessels that appear on the surface of skin. Spider veins can be blue, purple, or red. They typically appear on the legs and feet and may sometimes appear on the face. Spider veins are harmless and do not cause any pain but some people may want them removed for cosmetic reasons.

If a vein weakens or becomes damaged, the blood may struggle to flow in the correct direction, and it can begin to pool inside the vein.
